How Long Does A Car Battery Last?

How To Jump-Start a Car

When jump-starting a vehicle, please connect the jumper cables in the proper order for your safety and to prevent damage to your car battery.

1. Connect the red jumper cable to the positive (red) terminal on the dead battery.
2. Connect the other red jumper cable to the positive (red) terminal on the good battery.
3. Connect the black jumper cable to the negative (black) terminal on the good battery.
4. Finally, connect the other black jumper cable to a metal part of the car with the dead battery. Try to find an unpainted surface to ensure a good ground.
5. Start the engine of the car with the good battery.
6. Wait a minute and then try to start the car with the dead battery.
